My First Video Download

I was eighteen when I first came across shampoo videos on YouTube. Before that my only visual was the Herbal Essences commercials, but when I finally had my own laptop, and discovered how awesome it was to take said laptop into the basement and hunker down there in the summer time, I decided to search YouTube for shampoo videos. It wasn't long before I came across the Shampooguys sample videos, and I was in heaven. I'd never seen such an erotic portrayal of hair washing.

This one was my favorite. There were only a few videos of guys shampooing girls, and I liked this one the best. So naturally, a couple years later, just after I bought my first vibrator and was in the market for some "visual stimulation," that my go-to website was Shampooguys.com, and my video of choice was the one above.

Not a bad choice. The shampooing part, albeit only about a third of the actual video, was fantastic, so sensual. I couldn't get enough of it. In fact, my second video purchase was also from that website. As much as I liked the sensual nature of the video I had, I craved a little variety, and I wanted something a little more vigorous. I noticed that for that I needed a guy-on-guy video. Normally I'm not into that, but if the guy has long hair, it almost counts - it's still long hair being washed, and it's still being done by a crazy hot guy.

There seemed to be a gender dichotomy in the videos from that website. When a girl was being washed, or washing a guy's hair, it was slow and sensual. When it was a guy washing a guy's hair, it was a little more rough and vigorous. More head-scrubbing. I like scrubbing. I haven't seen this dichotomy as much in videos by other websites, which surprises me - in a good way, of course, but still.

People sometimes give me crap for paying for "porn," because there's so much free porn on the internet. Yeah, there's a lot of normal porn out there for free, fetish videos like this aren't as prevalent to be easy to find - or even exist - on torrent websites. I could just watch the YouTube videos, but it's kind of a buzzkill to have to keep restarting the video or click on a new one. I once tried to download those YouTube videos and put them in a compilation video, which I still kind of want to do, if only for my own personal use. Then again, with all I've already purchased, I'm not sure I still need it.

So Your Girlfriend Has a Shampoo Fetish

(Nope, I'm gonna write one more post before starting that paper.  . . . Don't look at me like that.)

If your girlfriend has admitted to having a shampoo fetish - as in, she loves having her hair washed - don't be alarmed, I have advice for you!

1) Have shampoo and lots of conditioner at your place, stuff that she can use. They can be "girly" products (like Herbal Essences), or products that are gender neutral (Pantene). Really, you should keep stuff a girl can use somewhere in your bathroom at all times, because a girl needs to be very low maintenance to even consider using a shampoo made for guys. You may want to anticipate using lots of shampoo, and buy something inexpensive like VO5 or Tresseme. Maybe throw some shaving cream or shave gel into your arsenal while you're at it!

2) Know that being shampooed in the shower is great, but girls with this fetish usually want to be shampooed over the sink, over the tub, sitting up, in the bath, etc. Ask her where and in what position she'd like to be shampooed.

3) As far as sex goes, don't expect to receive sexual gratification during the shampoo, or even after. Don't be one of those assholes who feels entitled to sex or a blowjob just because you do something nice for a girl. Ugh, you don't want to get me started on this . . .

4) If you're unsure how to actually wash her hair, say "hello!" to YouTube! Watch videos on how to wash hair, watch videos on channels from LatherFantasies, ShampooGuys, TheHairfun, etc., they'll show you how it's done!

5) Don't be afraid of being too rough! Go with your instincts, and if you're too rough she'll tell you to be gentle. Just to be safe, encourage her to correct her if you're too rough or if she wants you to be more vigorous.

6) Focus on the scalp! This is the biggest mistake men tend to make when they wash my hair, and I'm guessing they're not the only ones. The point is to scrub and message the scalp, so only work lather through the ends if you're getting ready to pile it all on her head. Of course, if you do that, be careful! Piling can lead to tangles, and tangles lead to hair damage when it's time to comb the hair out afterwards.

7) When you're not shampooing her hair, she'll also appreciate it if you massage her scalp, brush her hair, or even gently stroke her hair. Ask her if she likes having her hair pulled, it might be a nice move to try in the bedroom.

Okay, NOW I'm gonna write my paper!

He Finally Washed My Hair

Title pretty much says it all. We've been dating for just over a month now, but this morning it finally happened.

He'd known about my fetish. He practically forced it out of me on our first date when I mentioned I had a fetish. As usual, I was shy and hesitant to tell him, but I spilled it. That morning we took a shower together and he sort of washed my hair, but only for a few seconds. Then there was the night where I asked him to wash my hair, but then I said something that made him mad and he ended up refusing. A couple weeks later we showered together again, and he didn't wash my hair, which I got upset over, and he didn't like that. At one point he said "spoiled children don't get desert." I knew I needed to stop being such a crazy bitch before he would be willing to do this for me.

There were a couple instances where I'd be at his place and he'd jump in the shower, and I would remain on the bed. For me, the only point of showering with a guy was the shampoo, that's really the only sexual thing I'm interested in doing in a shower or bath (come on, we can do all that other stuff in bed). I'd dropped the subject completely for the time being, not wanting to push it.

Then this morning, after taking a quick shower with me still asleep, he decided he wanted to take another shower before heading off to work on a class project. This time, he invited me. I didn't push the subject, I started to lather my own hair, but then he sighed and took control.

It was fantastic. He was thorough, and applied just the right amount of pressure. Later he told me he was afraid of being too rough, as one guy before had been worried about. The first guy who washed my hair was really gentle, too gentle in fact, because he didn't want to hurt me. Seems to be a trend among guys.

When we were leaving the building - he to his meeting and myself to back to my apartment for some serious cleaning (and a paper I haven't actually started yet), he mentioned the possibility of picking up some shaving cream for next time. Who knows what will happen next.

I probably shouldn't, and probably won't, recount every shampoo venture in this blog. But the first is always very exciting for me, especially when it's really good. The ones that are recounted will most likely be vague. The only detailed stories I'll post here will be fictional, if I ever get around to writing something worth publishing.

Well, my 5 Hour Energy is starting to kick in (this is the best stuff ever, like crack in a bottle, you should try it!) I should start writing that paper for my urban law class. Yeah . . .

Examining the Past

I remembered back when I was very young, probably not more than 5, when I developed my shampoo obsessions. I'll never remember exactly what opened my eyes to it, but I do have some memories.

One memory is when I would imagine a bunch of guys - male characters from movies I'd been watching - standing around a bathtub, washing my hair, though I couldn't see myself in the vision, just the guys around me. I'd ask them to stop and there'd be a collective "awwww" followed by one guy asking "just a little bit more?"

Sketchy as hell, I know.

Other images I had involved being kidnapped by someone wanting to wash my hair, or being chased. I thought it was odd that I'd be afraid of someone washing my hair, and nowadays I think it's very weird that that's what I thought a kidnapper would do, rather than rape or kill me, two acts I couldn't even imagine when I was a kid. I didn't know what rape or sex were until I was about 8, and I had no knowledge of sexual pleasure, just the pleasure I imagined I'd get from having my hair washed, and the weird idea that some guy might want to do it to me without me wanting it.

In my own way, I had already begun to conceive notions of rape, consent, and gender roles in acts of pleasure.

Humiliation in Fetish Videos and Pornography

I consider myself a moderate pro-porn feminist: I don't object to all pornography, but I do object to certain themes, such as torture, rape, and humilation.

Humiliation seems to be a prevailing theme in the videos I've been discovering these days. Take the salon creaming videos, which are hot as I mentioned earlier, but the whole point is that all the shaving cream is meant to humiliate the subject rather than pleasure her. Then there's the video where a woman thinks she's auditioning for one thing, and then she's gunged, or covered in various messy things, with the purpose of humiliating and upsetting her - she's screaming and crying in parts of the videos.

Not okay.

Here's where I'm torn: I'm sex-positive, relatively pro-porn, and I want to be accepting of all fetishes and sexual interests. I mean, some people are just turned on by weird things. But where does it end? Should I really be okay with pedophilia? Crush videos where small animals are stepped on with spikey heels? And should it matter if certain fetishes are accepted, should non-acceptance mean that type of porn isn't made?

I guess my views on porn are the same with sex: if both parties are willing, why not? But if someone isn't willing, and lured into a room on false pretenses, I'm not really okay with that, and honestly, I don't think it should be allowed.

I realize this is less shampoo related and more related to fetish videos in general. And I'm repeating myself in the sense that I object to videos where the subject doesn't consent to what's happening.

My objection goes deeper than my empathy for those who are exploited in the making of fetish videos. I have a problem when women are unwilling participants, especially when they're humiliated, degraded or worse, because of the underlying notion that women are second-class citizens who only exist for men's pleasure whether they like it or not. And of course, there's the misguided idea that they secretly do like it and do want it done to them, they just don't know it yet.

On a final note, I do believe that forced shave videos - videos where a man cuts or shaves a woman's hair - does fall under the category of humilating fetish videos, and I definitely object to that genre.

If a woman doesn't consent to what's being done to her, it's not okay.

New Obsession

I have turned some kind of corner, and I now LOVE shampoo videos with shaving cream! The salon creaming videos might have done it for me. Before, the idea intrigued me, but I was still into the usual shampoo lather.

Actually, the first video I really liked was Shampoo of the Supervixen. It doesn't do much for me now though. Maybe it's because having her whacked in the face with the foam isn't that sexy to me, or maybe I can see how tangled her hair gets and it makes me cringe. And the fake moaning is tacky. Sure, I'd love more sensual videos where the girl is actually enjoying her shampoo rather than either taking it silently (submissive actors) or fighting the shampooer (unwilling participants). Don't get me wrong, the Salon Creaming videos rub me the wrong way in that the shampoo is meant to humiliate the subject, but the massaging and scrubbing turns me on anyway, when it's actually done (much of the videos just show the woman covered in shaving cream with text making fun of how much foam there is). *sigh* what can I say, even feminists have their guilty pleasures.

Shampoo Fetish Etiquette

A few yers ago, I got in a heated debate on the ShampooForum. This guy had posted a series of videos featuring a woman getting her hair shampooed in salon. The problem with it, for me anyway, was that he filmed it with his cell phone, she had no idea he was making a video. I knew it was probably legal, but it still rubbed me the wrong way:

1) Video or no video, he watched a woman get her hair washed, and he watched it because it aroused him. Personally, I would HATE IT if some creep watched me get shampooed in a salon, I didn't even like it when my mom watched me when I was a kid. Being watched is really awkward, no matter what you're doing, at least for me anyway. People need to realize that women were not put here to perform for others, we do not walk down the street so men can stare at our asses, we don't sit on the subway so men can jack off to the sight of us. Sure, if something catches your interest, look, but just for a moment.

2) If some guy posted a picture or video of me doing anything so other guys can jack off to it, I would feel extremely violated. I choose what about me gets shared on the internet, no one else.

People raged at me and called me stupid and ignorant, mostly because they asserted it was completely legal to do, and also that in the shampoo community we should share as much as we can. Well, I'm going to assert what I believe to be a reasonable code of etiquette for this fetish community.

1) CONSENT IS KEY! Never shampoo someone without their consent, and never photograph or record the shampoo without their consent either. A forced shampoo can be hot, and can be faked in a video with a consenting actor, but in reality, doing anything for erotic purposes to an unwilling person can be traumatizing. And never post or sell the video without their consent either.

2) Never stare at a woman being shampooed in a salon. Even if she doesn't know you're watching her, even if she doesn't know you're turned on by it, it's a sketchy thing to do, and it treats that woman like a sex object.

The key is context. Yes, it's not sexual by mainstream standards, she's not naked, you're not staring at her ass or breasts, BUT it turns you on the same way those normal sexual acts do, so that fetish puts the act of shampooing in the category of erotic behaviors.

3) Proceed gently when you try to contact a woman online about this fetish. Public posting like this is one thing, because any creepy behavior can be moderated - in private messaging, harassment can happen much more easily, and that is scary. Even if you have somewhat good intentions, even the invitation to chat privately can make her uncomfortable, so don't get offended or persist if she rejects or ignores your advance. Never expect a woman to share pictures or private information.

That's all I can think of for now.

Time to Write!

My finals are over, so I have a little more time to write! That is, when I have a private moment here and there, I'm going home tomorrow.

First things first, I dyed my hair! I meant to get a deep red, but I didn't realize crimson was actually a shade of pink. Boy do I feel dumb. In any case, the color works for me.

Me and my boyfriend have bathed together a couple times. One shower, one bath, and he's not that great of a shampooer. Not a dealbreaker, of course. He still doesn't know about my fetish, for some reason I'm still too shy to tell him. It does feel nice when he washes my hair, he's very gentle and that alone feels pretty good.

A new guy has come into my life, and while I'm not looking to start a relationship with him anytime soon, I find myself wondering if he's into shampooing. I always wonder that about a new guy. He doesn't have to be, but it would be so great to date someone who has this fetish. It will be interesting to see if me and this guy end up together, he seems really into me and I find myself thinking about him way too much.

But enough about my silly love life, that's not what you're here for, is it?

There have been some new shampoo videos on YouTube nowadays. Not a whole lot of good ones, but one has really gotten my attention:

The Hairfun is a pretty good site, until recently all the shampoo clips have been decent, but for some reason there's been a slew of "giggling girls" videos. I guess some people are into watching girls just having fun and washing each other's hair over the bathtub. Kind of creepy, but hey, that's voyourism for ya. I'm not saying I don't like the home setting, give me a good video (key word: good) of a guy washing his girlfriend's hair over the bathtub any day, but that's different, it's romantic and sensual, not "teehee, look at this crazy, silly thing we did when Jenny and Lizzy slept over!" Honestly, why do girls upload those videos, the only people who like them are guys who get turned on by that stuff. I wonder if these girls are aware of that.

Also, I'm really tired of videos of kids taking bubble baths ending up in my "reccomended for you" section. Ew. No. Creepy. Just . . . no. Again, why upload that??

Then again, there are a lot of pointless videos on YouTube. Lots of delusional people out there I guess.

Let's see, what else . . .

Oh, the LatherFantasies videos have gotten weird. No offense to the guy who makes them, I'm sure they're hot to some people, but it's like shampoo torture, it's weird. A little force is fine, it can be hot, but there's a point where it's just mean, and then it's actually a turn-off. But hey, that's just me, I've never been into girl-on-girl stuff anyway.

Then there are the hairmovies previews. They're pointless, they just show a woman going into a salon and getting set up, the clip stops before anything good happens. OR the clip just shows her getting rinsed. Not much of a preview. But again, it's girl-on-girl in a professional setting, it's obviously made for guys, not really appealing to me anyway.

I'm trying not to judge other people's fetishes, or variations of a particular fetish, but sometimes it hard to wonder "uh . . . people find this hot?" or even find something extremely creepy. Hell, I find it creepy that my 24 year-old ex dating an 18 year-old really weird - even if he wasn't my ex I'd probably be icked out by the whole thing. Sometimes a preference borders on sexism, like when people fetishize youth and innocence in girls, as a feminist I find that kind of wrong. But hey, that's just me.

Now I'm picturing the scene in The Hunchback of Notre Dame where . . . uh, that priest guy is obsessing over the gypsy Esmerelda and it's tormenting him. He can't help it, but it's super creepy.

Hair Damage and The Shampoo Fetish

No I didn't forget about this blog, I've just been stupid busy with school, club meetings, trips to New York, etc., and I haven't had much time to write. I see I have some more followers, so maybe that'll give me some incentive.

Today . . . . er . . . tonight, I'm going to discuss how some of the techniques used in the shampoo fetish community damage a woman's hair. I've been meaning to discuss this for a while actually.

1) Overwashing. Not that I don't like it when a guy lathers me for a long time with lots of shampoo, but it does dry out the hair and strip it of its natural oils (yes, you need some oil to keep it smooth and shiny). And most women's hair doesn't need to be washed every day. So if you want her hair to stay great, keep the mild washing sessions to every other day, and don't do the extreme shampoo sessions more than once or twice a week.

2) Piling. Piling the hair on top of the head generates frizz and causes hair to get tangled (and untangling hair is a damaging process that often leads to broken hair), so again, keep this to a minimum. Also, the only hair that needs to be shampooed is the crown, unless the woman uses a lot of product throughout her hair.

Also, don't leave shampoo sitting in the hair. It's drying and unnecessary.

To combat these, make sure you use a good amount of conditioner after the shampoo. If you're the one taking pleasure in the activity, maybe thank her for letting you shampoo her with a bottle of intensive leave-in conditioner, or even a professional salon procedure if you can afford it.

I'm not saying you should only shampoo the "healthy way" all the time - healthy being only using a little bit of organic (not containing lathering agents) shampoo on the crown - but do have some respect for the health of her hair. Don't insist on washing her hair every day. After all, many women take pride on their crowning glory.

Back At School!

Hey all, sorry it's been a while, it's hard to get some privacy at home. But I'm back at school, in my own bedroom this year (yessss!), and I've already ordered my first Lather Fantasies video!

I got my haircut the other day. This time, instead of going to a salon, I had it done at the day spa my sister's been going to. I'd had a few other things done recently and loved the atmosphere, so I decided it was the perfect place for a haircut, especially my favorite part *wink*

And man what a difference! The shampoo felt so much better there than in a regular salon, they really put a lot of effort into making it feel amazing. She also gave me a scalp massage when she conditioned my hair. I'll definitely go back again.

And my hair looks amazing. Still looks amazing I should say, since the cut was almost a week ago.
